In what could be seen as an inventory clearing move, Microsoft has teamed up with Dell to bundle the Xbox 360 Elite System with the gaming oriented XPS 1730. The top of the line bundle features a 7200 RPM, 400 GB hard drive along with Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T9300 (2.5GHz/800Mhz FSB/6MB cache).
The Xbox Elite System currently has a 120 GB hard drive, with the next size down being 20 GB. Microsoft has announced a 60 GB version this fall, and will do away with the 20 GB version completely.
It’s a good move for Microsoft, as many consumers will no doubt gravitate towards the soon-to-be-released 60 GB version. At $2,999 for the gaming bundle offered by Dell, it looks like now might be a good time to pick up some good deals.

This is the gaming liaison at Dell, and I just wanted to drop by to let everyone know that this deal isn’t only available with the XPS M1730: it’s also available with the XPS 630 desktop system. I blogged about it here:

Thanks for spreading the word!
