I guess no one’s heard of the JIT philosophy. Producing each unit “Just In Time” reduces excess inventory which allows room for the 32GB model. This shortage was done purposely! Apple is brilliant!!!

I am an AT&T employee (Network engineering, not Wireless) and like everyone else, I had to wait in line. I was 16 people too late on launch day!! I got my phone through a local AT&T store using direct fulfillment… It was ordered on Friday, July 11th (Launch day) and in my hands only four days later on Tuesday!!

Apple sucks. WTF — people WAITING IN LINE after **2 damn weeks***? This is not the Holy Grail, it’s a damn phone.

This is insane.

2 of my neighbors just went over to AT&T, did direct fulfillment, now they’ve got their iPhones, no waiting in line. Less than 7 days for both of them.

I hope RIM eats Apple’s lunch. This artificial shortage is bullshit. Trying to stir up a frenzy with a shortage. A**holes.

But they have no stock, so what’s the purpose of a stock tracker? Literally every iphone they get from Apple for the next few weeks will go to a direct fulfillment purchaser. This article is an epic fail.
