Alienware m17x has been unboxed

m17xunbox

The art of opening a box while taking photos or video is known ’round these parts as unboxing, and it’s been played out since 2006. That said, an unboxing of the Alienware m17x , which Biggs lauded earlier this year, has now surfaced.

As the lucky recipient says, it sure as hell does look a lot sturdier than the m15x. And as Biggs says, it’s an honest to goodness gaming laptop that doesn’t make you look like “Senor WoWpants.”

Dual nVidia GPUs, 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme, and 4GB of RAM means you should be able to play even the most demanding of games. It does come with Vista, though. That can’t be helped, I suppose.

Yes, a nice version of Linux or BSD could really help :)

Vista is optional, I had it put on because the cards scale well with DX10. Plus, I’m edgy like that.

Nice, I just ordered the same specs as that guy but without the blueray drive because that’s what ps3’s are for :P. It ended up around $5,700 so I guess he payed like $6,400.
