The fine gents over at Kotaku spoke to Ed Boon, the Godfather of the Mortal Kombat series, who says that the next game in the series, Mortal Kombat 9, will be bloodier, more violent, and more Mortal Kombat than ever before.
In other words, it’s the Mortal Kombat you fell in love with, all those years ago.
Can we all agree that MKII was the bestt? It all sorta fell apart from there, though seeing MK4 in the arcade for the first time was pretty cool. Granted, I was 11 at the time, but I remember being wowed by it.

What the hell? #7 was not the best, it was the worst… MKD (6) and down were all great, in the 1990’s Mortal kombat Trilogy was best, MK2 is cool, but not the best…

MKII is the best of the series followed by probably MK: Deception, and MK vs DCU. The “trilogies”, “gold”, and other filler games are not true installments in the series. The series for the uninitiated goes like this: MK1, MK2, MK3/UMK3, MK4, MK:DA (MK5), MK:D (MK6), MK:A (MK7), MKvDC (MK8)
The best was UMK3 from there on nothing went right.
If there is going to be a MK9, it better be the one we are waiting for or else dont even bother; by the way the mortal kombat 2 the movie sucks!!!

For the next Mortal Kombat 9 they should make something gooder, like make them hit up in the airs and some the MK Character need some power fighting… I was kind of thinking you should make MK VS DC II and add some more character and re-edit some fighting move skills so yea that’s what I agree..

I think they will have 20 characters in MK9, because I saw 20 question marks in the MK9 page on this one site called MK Komplete strategy guide. I hope one of them is Tremor.

mortal kombat is a great series. you shouldn’t be breaking it down to which one is better. remember; it was originally a one game project, and look where we are now. they r all great. there is not one better than the other. the game doesn’t change, the weapons and graphics do!!!!

Armageddon sucked balls. MK2 was the best, but MKvDC was a [very] welcome return to form. MK9 will probably be the best because of the improvements in the gameplay they added in MKvDC.
I Think Armageddon was the best of Mk games i have played……………I liked the powers and the 13 fatalities if u are capable of doing it……..
Mainly the Combos were Awesome……..Ofcourse the conquest mode ould have been better but…….the arcade mode was…awesome …………..i always say…Scorpion and Kensi rules in MK7….try alll the combos…of them….u willl begin liking Armageddon

In the MK9 page they might have Jade, Liu Kang, Cyrax, Sector, Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, and Jax. They might either take some of them them out of the game or just leave them there.
They also say MK9 might be the last MK game ever.

mortal kombat is one of the best fighting games i have ever played. I love 123 umk3, mkt, mkm. I think the 2d were the best. Holy cow lets stop beating around the bush. I know we all want street fighter vs mortal kombat. EPIC. when will it happen. Dont get me wrong i love mk vs dc. but i think mk should go back to 2d.

I wouldnt say just mk1,2,3 chars. the epic thing to do is to put everybody in mka in as 2d. have every single level known to every mk game. im not sure if this good but put mini games in. I think MK vs DC took place after MK2. If they made a sequel to MK vs DC, they could probably make it take place before or after MK3 and they would add the characters from MK3.
But I doubt that MK would verse DC or another team again.
