Gears of War movie gets financing from Legendary Pictures and New Line

Legendary Pictures and New Line will supposedly co-finance and co-produce the Gears of War movie. This is good news for fans of the game that would want to see this movie. I still have a bad taste in my month over the whole Halo movie fiasco, so I’m still having trouble believing this will ever be made.
Legendary Pictures doesn’t like to throw its money around, so it’s a good sign when they sign on to work on a project. They have also helped finance a lot of the big “geek” movies that have come out recently. The most recent example would be the new Dark Knight movie.
It is also being reported that Len Wiseman, who directed Live Free or Die Hard, is set to direct the Gears movie. With this much support it looks like the Gears of War movie might really make it to the big screen. I guess we will have to wait and see if this is all just Hollywood blowing smoke again.

I think Blur studios should start making all these game movies, just drop the whole live action thing, that’s getting old anyway.
Blur Studios - CG Game Movies - Orgasmic.

Do you want to guarantee the movie gets made? Have Uwe Bol do it! He and his German financiers can get *anything* made.
(Please note that I have said absolutely nothing about having a QUALITY movie made - just A movie.)

Uwe Bol loves to ruin good movie ideas… what a crappy director
