They’re already working on the next generation of video game consoles

A fun game, full of bright colors and imaginative gameplay. Rare.
Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo are already working on the next generation of video game consoles, according to Forbes. That said, don’t expect them for several years. Crushing, yes.
Even though we’re almost three years into this generation (the Xbox 360 was first released in November, 2005), developers are only now getting used to the three different platforms. That means first-person shooters with browner browns and blacker blacks. Loads of fun, this generation.
How do you envision the next generation? I predict more of the same—FPS after FPS, sequel after sequel and Mario Rents a Condo in Florida 6.

This is how it always works. Sony expects what do they say…a 10 year lifespan of the ps3? They’ve got a ways left until the ps4 comes out. Which means a lot of time for all new types of technology to come out…who knows when Microsoft will release their next gen console. Hopefully it won’t be a year early again. I suspect they’ve learned their lesson from the 360. As for Nintendo, I’ve never been a huge fan, but if they could just mix their casualness with an actual good high-def console…they’d win hands down.

Yeah I’m really hoping Nintendo gets with the program and caters a bit more (and by a “bit” I mean “a lot”) to the hardcore crowd. I’m really tired of these shovelware games flooding the market. These tacked-on controls of really bad games. And these games are actually making money! Because the “casual” crowd doesn’t know the difference. They’re not used to the idea that there are crap video games (anything Hannah Montana) and great video games (see Bioshock). Really, I mean, just make a console that can compete graphically next generation and make a better controller. Or at least design the controller around traditional gaming and include a motion-sensing one for those casual kiddies. Oh yeah, I remember Mario and Link when I was younger, but I grew up, I’m assuming they did too. Don’t get me wrong Mario Galaxy was amazing, and I absolutely loved Twilight Princess, but maybe….just maybe….make them a bit more….I don’t know…grown up? I’m glad there was no kid-Link this time around. But maybe Link should be like in his 30’s now…and bad ass.

Hey, I’m a “Nintendo fanboy”, I think I deserve the right to express my feelings. I’ve never owned any other console other than Nintendo’s. Yeah I like Wii, no I don’t like soccor mom’s buying every piece of crap-ware only reinforcing developers to make more “My Little Pony” games because they’re selling. How can you say that’s ignorant when, if you knew the market, you’d see this is exactly what’s going on. Please…
