Weird. I just assumed everyone there had it, based on all the stores and the houses I visited. Maybe it was because I was in northern Minnesota, though.

Hopefully this 1080p thing signs them up some subscribers, because from what I've heard, satellite television hasn't been a blazing industry lately.

I'm from Minnesota and yes, there are plenty of DISH stores there, which is kind of odd because I've never been inside a DISH subscriber's home. You see the DISH dishes every once in a while but it's always from inside a relatively fast-moving vehicle so it becomes kind of like a Sasquatch sighting. That's cool that you saw one firsthand, though.

After a few trips to Minnesota a few years ago, I came to the conclusion that DISH is how everyone there gets their television (and internet access, from what I saw). There were DISH stores EVERYWHERE, it was really pretty strange.

The people I stayed with had DISH. My dad has DirecTV, which I have found to have a far superior interface (at least back then, maybe DISH has improved). Their internet speeds were abysmal.

Sounds like a cool update though. I like 1080p.
