My experience is the similar to nathan's. My HTPC has a Blu-Ray player, and it looks fabulous on the big screen, but Netflix is significantly worse than SD DVD. Netflix streaming is a big disappointment both in terms of selection and quality. Standard definition file downloads are way better.

I've got an HTPC connected to my HDTV and have watched approx 3 movies and 2 TV shows streamed from Netflix since they started offering this service.

It's great on a PC monitor, as something to distract you, but the quality even with the highest speed/bitrate rating is significantly worse than DVD -- on part with SD content on cable TV -- so they've got a long way to go until this thing is of interest to people who are watching Blu-Ray on an HDTV.

Agreed. If you're only interested in the latest releases, it's not for you. But I already watch tons of great older stuff on my PC.

I was ready to check out the Roku box too. If the price is around the same for current bluray and the netflix is a bonus, I am sold. I am hoping for better streaming and this box makes it seem close to that happening.

The Roku box is $100 for totally unlimited access to over 10,000 movies. How is that a waste of money? Find a dozen movies (or a small handful of TV series seasons) on there and the thing has paid for itself already. If you already pay for Netflix, it seems well worth it to me.

That's probably just a formatting issue. I'll fix it. (Sound of footsteps running away -- pause -- sound of footsteps running back) There we go.

Man did anybody proofread that press release before they sent it out, so many squished together words made it hard to read at some points.
