Oh! This application for the iPhone (and iPod touch) costs $1,000, or about €41, and does nothing but put a rotating red gem on the screen.
The name of the app is I Am Rich, and it’s developed by Armin Heinrich.
Hardly a big deal. Rich people buy silly things all the time, right?

What currency-converter did you use? I get it to about 650 euro. :)
It’s a running joke wille
Ah, sorry, im from Sweden. We dont get jokes… ;)
Jabs is right, it’s a running joke we do. You’ll also find that we make fun of our editor, John Biggs, quite a lot.
We’re all fairly neurotic, in other words.

No, you’re an idiot. You don’t get jokes.
What I don’t understand is that you hear about all of these applications that take weeks to get to the app store and yet you can buy this!
Yes… they only allow apps that are useful to Iphone users.
Why would they want something useful for business like Google voice, when they can say I have more money then sense?
Ahhh, the dollar vs. Euro-joke. Strangely enough I never tire of it.

Can’t afford this elite-level iPhone app? Try the cheapskate’s webapp version. Just point your mobile Safari to http://andy.teamsoell.com/iamrich.
Someone should code an “I am Poor” app that displays an open hand and sell it for a penny ;P
Thanks for the idea. But instead I’ll make the app free.
“We’re all fairly neurotic” Yeah, I know, I met some of you in Vegas (CES) and SF (macworld) ;)
True, true Dave. Love from Seoul. :)
