HP joining the netbook craze in October

Coming in October from HP by way of Inventec (OEM) are varying 10.1- and 10.2-inch netbooks with Intel Atom processors. Apparently, there’s a shortage of 10-inch panels which is hindering HP from releasing them now. The first netbook to roll out will come with and SSD drive and a screen resolution of 1024×576. Sometime in Q1 of 2009, HP will release an enterprise model giving the buyer the option of an SSD or HDD. Sign me up!

  • HP joined the netbook craze quite awhile ago, unless the 2133 doesn’t count.

  • The HP 2133 does not count…just ask the HP marketing manager after ordering manufacturing to make 2 million of them and also said prior to its introduction that 2 million people would buy it at $750 no questions asked..this same person probably by now is now shoveling donkey dung in China for a living…
The market price is now set at $599 tops and after a few more laptop makers introduce theirs in Sept-Oct this market will be diving for $399 tops by Xmas…and take notebook sales in general with it..all good for the consumer!
