What’s taking so long for GoldenEye to be released on the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console?
Rare’s Nick Burton says the number of licensees involved will more than likely prevent the game from ever being available on Virtual Console, saying the game is in “no man’s land.”
Says Burton:
It’s incredibly hard to solve because there’s so many license holders involved. You’ve got the guys that own the license to the gaming rights now, the guys that have the license to Bond as an IP, and there are umpteen licensees.
Lame. Virtual Console is the easiest way to play classic games on your HDTV without them looking terrible.
Yeah, you can emulate the game, but it’s not really the same as playing it while on your big comfy couch, now is it?

The best part in this game, from what I remember when I was 7, is when you had the laser watch and shot laser beams on that steel plate on the train floor to escape. Freakin’ prime.
I was 12 when I first played it. All bets were off when we figured out how to use proximity mines.

I desperatly want nintendo to release goldeneye on the virtual console for nintendo wii!!!! Definatly the best shooting game ever…….. Anyone agree with me ????? Leave a comment so nintendo gets the idea….. The more commments, the more likely something will be done

i loved this game back in the day, I just connected my Wii to the internet and i was shocked that there was no Goldeneye on VC!!!
well a year has passed, and there’s only one thing that remains to say about the best n64 game ever :
F*** Nintendo and F*** all you license holders, is this how people who love good games are gonna get paid ?
i bought about a 100 games on VC, most of them are great, but none of them compares to goldeneye… no idea what those guys are doing all the time, shoveling bucks and mario up their as*es ???
happily I hacked my psp, so at least sony won’t give me no pain in the as* no more… bunch o’ fags all o’ them, word is born… that’s what happens if people who have no idea about games get to be the guys who release the stuff. they all want us to play need for speed and fifa, and throw the rest to the fire !
