60 million downloads on the App Store, Jobs confirms remote removal

Word on the street is that the App Store has seen some 60 million downloads since its launch last month, and has sold about $1 million worth of applications per day. (That’s $30 million in a month, $360 million in a year, if the numbers hold.) While that’s all well and good, there’s no numbers breaking down usage—say you bought a Magic 8 Ball app but only used it twice.
Moral of the story, the App Store is a huge success. Did anyone really think it wouldn’t be?
In related news, Steve Jobs confirmed that Apple can remotely remove an application from your iPhone, saying it would be “irresponsible” if it didn’t have such a mechanism built-in. I’m inclined to agree. What would Apple want to read and hear more, that it’s an evil company with draconian security measures, or that its iPhone is failing left and right because of a popular app and there’s nothing it can do about it?

Apple can remove apps from your phone, and you are ok with this? What the hell is wrong with you?
This is how most people like Hitler come to power, promise everyone security if your just give up your rights to individuality and freedom.
If I have an app thats causeing problems, I’ll remove it, thank you.
