Aye-chee-wah-wah. Here’s the new Lara Croft; former gymnast Alison Carroll of Croydon, a borough of London. I can’t stand Angelina Jolie – can’t stand her – so it brings me great joy to see that she can retire and I can finally like Tomb Raider again.
Granted, Miss Carroll won’t really be playing the role of Lara Croft in a movie anytime soon, but “she will appear at promotions and conferences in character, performing stunts such as back flips, and will play the part in TV commercials. Miss Carroll will even answer questions on chat shows as Lara, after taking a crash course in archaeology,” according to the Daily Mail.

As a gymnast, Carroll has performed for Prince Charles (hold the jokes, please) and has coached younger gymnasts and “choreographed the routine for the junior team that won the British National Championships.” After winning the role of Lara Croft, Carroll quit her job as a receptionist to begin training for her new endeavor.

Eh, oh well. I also can’t stand Angelina Jolie. I heard disgusting rumors of her as Catwoman. Please, please don’t muck up this amazing series of films. (Off topic, I know). But really, do we need a Laura Croft poster-woman?

@AnthonyIac: amazing film series -.-!? angelina jolie is just a ‘dummy’ hired by the film studio to play lara croft in the movies witch has nothing in common with the ‘real’ game lara croft – eidos redoes lara croft every view years and hires a model “for public appearances and promotions” and the only person you can call lara croft is her (like in james bond movie – currectly its daniel craig)

This is lame. This woman is not replacing the movie Lara Croft, which Jolie played, she’s just another one in a long line of models who’ve incarnated Croft in shows and conventions.
The best model to ever “play” Lara Croft was, IMO, Rhona Mitra.
Plus, how can any guy “not stand” Angelina Jolie, for f*ck’s sake!
From what I see, Alison Carroll looks good in the outfit… She’s VERY easy on the eyes – what more could you want?

Rhona is nice, but she looks soft. Nothing looks soft about Carroll.
One can dislike Angelina Jolie simply by virtue of having good taste in women. She is an obnoxious little trollop who can not act.
I disliked Angelina Jolie even before their lips started to look like Mick Jagger’s ones.

Let face facts it’s very, very hard to find the best Lara Croft unless any of you guys can fit Lara’s shoes then shut-up and just enjoy the excitement. Remember models and actors do know something about make us very happy. I believe all of us wanted to do the same thing; we act out to win for Lara by sharing her adventures. I am sure it is very hard to measure up to her caliber. Life without her would be a weary.
I’m Very Excited about all of this. Alison makes a GREAT Laura Croft. No doubt about it.

yeah.. Seems some people here know little about tomb raider games and movies.. I played all the games. Loved tr 1, 2, 3, and legend. Those are my favorites. But legend was bland and had small levels hatet the preset action button pressing. In anniversery the t-rex and raptor fight was a BIG let down. Favorite Tomb Raider women? Like jolies looks but love karima and carrol. the movies verent perfect but good..
Tom Arild I love Legend too but to tell you the truth it was kind’ve challenging I went up to London where the bell was but I lend my psp legend game to Gio my friend and I forgot that that was my last day at my (volunteer) job. But I’ll try and get it back next summer. =) I like Jolie and Allison but never heard of all these other models.

I love Angelina! LOVE her. She is beautiful. She’s strong and has such confidence in herself. She looks so much like Lara!! Not just her facial features but her body is proportioned similarly as well. I don’t like this new Lara at all. I don’t care how many back flips she can do. It’s just not the same
I will give it up to the other girls though. They all are beautiful. I think the next best Lara was Rhona for sure. I did like her a lot. I just don’t like this new girl. She’s probably one of my least favorites. There’s just something about her that doesn’t fit.
