Heads up, fans of American football. The reviews for Madden NFL 09 are now in, and damn near every publication loves it. 1UP, my Web site of choice for console game reviews (Edge magazine is my dead trees publication of choice) says this about the game, which it gives an A+:
this is a football game that one-ups the stakes between the sidelines, and it’s so visually impressive that it’s likely to stick in your system all season long
Not too big a fan of the NFL, but it does look like Tiburon did a fine, fine job this time around.

Got this one yesterday, it is awesome! One complaint (or maybe I’m just an idiot)…Brett Favre is on the cover (in GB uniform), now I realize he was retired when the game was created, but could’t EA load out a firmware update before the launch to add him to the Jets, or at least make him available as a free agent or something? The guy has been unretiring for months!
If he’s in there somewhere, please correct me!

zach - yes you can download the updated roster which puts Favre on the Jets in Madden 09. Also you can go to ea’s website and download an alternate cover of Favre in a Jets jersey if you don’t like the fact that the cover has him in a GB jersey.
MADDEN 09 is SICK!!!
