This image showed up earlier today on Digg and we just received word from Nintendo PR about whether or not it’s real. It’s the usual PR answer.
Nintendo does not comment on rumors and speculation.

Seriously, how on earth is it even a question as to wheter or not it is real. That is the ugliest device peripheral I have ever seen. Any number of third party hardware companies would make something that looks more polished than that.
There is no way that Nintendo will release a peripheral for their system that is that homely. Have you looked at a Wii or a DS Lite recently?
