These have been around for at least 30 years. My dad is a volunteer fireman, and I’ve seen these my entire life. Sure, they had square metal frames with some type of canvas “tank” but they’ve been around forever.
I think the big difference is the portability. The drop tanks my dept uses are good 2 men to move, 3 to put back away. A one guy move would save time and people.
