Universal Remote intros two new remotes
by Matt Burns on August 19, 2008

With CEDIA right around the corner, AV geeks can expect a steady flow of new products. Universal Remote is going to be showing off their newest remotes at the show but we have a sneak peak.

The MX-440 clocks in at $249 and gets you a nice slender, remote equipped with IR-only control, color LCD screen rock’n 220 x 176 resolution, LED backlit screen and buttons, and on-remote macro editing. Available now.

$499 buys the MX-880 though, and well, this is the complete package: all the goodies from the MX-450 plus, RF signal, 2-inch screen, and a customizable UI all wrapped up in a super, sexy package. Also available now.

Traditionally, Universal Remote products are aimed at the custom install channel and we don’t expect anything different from these two new remotes. The big draw to the MX-880 is installers can whip up custom screens that better suit their clients needs. More info to come once we lay hands on the remotes at the show.
