The original Bose SoundDock was the de facto standard for all other iPod docks on the market. Simply put, it rocked. The next-gen version works out all of its differences with the iPhone and now plays, and charges, nicely together. Plus, the designer folk streamlined the look a bit and added a thoughtful aux-in jack for the iPod haters. (joke, just a joke) Finally, the remote has been refreshed to include playlist navigation and finally, volume control. MSRP is set at a premium $299 and it will be available in September.

  • Is this just the Bose portable, currently available, for which you can hook the iphone up to the aux jack? Or is this a new model for which you can hook the iphone directly in to the dock?
