Solar-powering clothing accessories isn’t exactly a new idea. I have seen solar charger bags, a purse (or two), but we are stoked to have finally found something to wear when sporting the solar briefcase: a necktie! Who cares if it’s going to repel ladies like Peter Ha, my Blackberry is always going to be charged. Oh yeah.

  • Ok so these are only design concepts so I will take them with a pinch of salt, but I mean c’mon.

The mind boggles as to who thinks this is going to sell.
Unless you can get photovoltaic cells into a material that has the same texture as say cotton (so it looks nothing like a bunch of solar panels hanging off your neck), this is never going to fly with the public.

Unless electricity gets a lot more expensive….

  • Perfect for the office building which has no roof. Or for that occasional hike with your co-workers during lunch.
