For anyone who wishes to fix not being able to scroll up using certain mouse pads, I have released a patcher. You can download it here:
http://users.ecs.soton.ac.uk/pjt2v07/chrome/

Just run chrome_patch.exe. It will patch chrome.dll to fix the issue.

I have the same problem. I noticed 2 processes in the task manager. ICO.exe & PMXMICED.exe [both described as Mouse Suite 98 Daemon]. When I delete these, chrome scroll up starts working. Not sure how to stop these starting up each time I boot up.

If you have multiple FireFox profiles, Chrome will import the last one that you used. What I did was: close all FF windows, open FF using my main profile, hit Import in Chrome.

Thank gawd for that - thought it was just me not being able to scroll up! It's very jerky scrolling down too don't you think, even you you can't head back up again afterwards! Deal breaker for me unless they fix it.

As already noted in some of the posts, I couldn't import bookmarks from either IE or FF3. Surprising that even after so many people have raised this issue, Google has not added this as a known issue on their site at http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/request.py?contact_type=known_issues_2. In any case, I have reported a bug for the same.

I wish it has a similar feature like firefox where we can go to a website by only typing the title of the page in the address bar

Ok, ok..it doesn't conform to ALL W3C standards. As someone pointed out, it fails the Acid3 test. But, it does seem to handle CSS well, or at least the same as FireFox and Opera. IE handles CSS differently which causes me to have to work around the differences.

We all appreciate when folks identify problems with beta software because this makes light of issues so that they can be properly addressed by the dev team. However, we all need to take a step back and remember that this is beta. The whole point of beta testing is to identify issues and let the dev team know. The best way to find all of the little problems that were not found during unit testing is to open it up to the public and let them play. Beta testing for any application is not meant to be a production demo and it is not meant to solicit rants. The problems we find in beta will most likely be addressed as time allows. I am not saying that Karyn's post was a rant, it may be taken that way but at the same rate, it contains some very good points. I just think that some of these comments are bordering on rants. I am guilty of it too, but we have to remember, this IS beta!

I tried google chrome but found it to be a pain when it comes to not being able to scroll up a page, as well as sites that I have trusted for years and even ones that I have designed and know they are malicious code free are showing up in chrome with a malware warning when you attempt to bring them up yet in firefox there is no warning, nor is there one on IE or any other browser that I use.

By Chrome labeling sites to be full of malicious content that are not it is going to cost companies a lot of business and I for one will go after google on this issue if that indeed happens to me. My site is done in PHP nothing funky about it, heck I would not know how to inject it with anything even if I tried. Innocent business people will be getting a bad name for something they are not doing, until this is fixed I uninstalled Chrome and have no intention of ever using it again.

I read the comics about Chrome. I installed it and immediately found it wanting. It hangs forever on my stock pages on Yahoo. When I try to view a specific portfolio it hangs forever. So I ended up with five tags spinning off into forever land. I went back to Firefox and everything works as I expect.

Needless to say I won't be using Chrome until they have had it out for awhile. Good old Firefox works like a champ.

I use two browsers IE and Firefox. I have tried the others and they always fall short. Chrome currently does not support my usage patterns.

I've uninstalled Chrome.

I don't like the lack of proper scrolling.

I don't like the EULA.

Google has enough of my personal information. If I'm going to give myself to their browser too, it's like throwing the keys in the front seat of my car with the windows open. Google's just getting a little too big for me.
