HP <3’s the planet, wins Wal*Mart Home Entertainment Design Challenge
by Peter Ha on September 3, 2008

Good on ya, HP! The PC and notebook giant was able to strip down the packaging on a Pavilion dv6929 by 97 percent. HP exchanged the normal packing materials for their notebooks with the HP Protect Messenger bag that’s made from 100 percent recycled materials. That’s a pretty darn good idea except I worry that some rapscallions will try and jet out of Wal*Mart and Sam’s Clubs with a few in hand. The notebooks retail for $798 and they’ll be on shelves in just the messenger bags.

Good luck Wal*Mart/Sam’s Club security guards.
