Will Wright’s Spore officially comes out on Tuesday, and it’s already raking in the positive press. But perhaps you want to play the game this weekend, what do you do then? You turn to BitTorrent, of course.

Release group RELOADED cracked the game’s SecureROM encryption, and now the game’s all over the usual sites: The Pirate Bay, Mininova, etc. (I probably shouldn’t link to it, but you know how to find it, I’m sure.) You’ll have to live with the fact that you’re helping to put Will Wright in the poor house, though.

Or, you can be Mr. Noble Pirate and download the game now, then buy it when it comes out next week. That’s not too objectionable, right?

  • Why even post this news? All it does is instigate more piracy.

  • Thanks for posting this! Gonna go pirate it right now!! Screw off AlexNC!!

  • Pwnt. Too bad I have a Mac…

  • Actually, the noble pirate route sounds good, since I want it now, but I also want to support great games like this.

  • jesus the internet is full of idiots! put Will Wright in the poor house?! hmmm yeah like i think a few pirates can cause that. Companies like EA charge way too much money for games, when people like me cant afford them, they sell tonnes of rubbishy games and glam them up to con people out of their money and use extensive product placement to make even more, In my eyes the pirates are the lesser of two evils!. Just like music piracy there is no worry that we will run out of games or music.

  • We all knew it would only be a matter of time, it’s been this way since the beginning of time. EA won’t be losing any money anytime soon.

  • EA encouraged piracy by allowing someone to only install the game the max of 3 TIMES!!! WAY TO SHOOT YOURSELVES IN THE FOOT!! After the 3rd install you have to call into EA stellar customer support (lol) and explain why you want to install it a 4th.

In short, pirates are allowed to install it as much as they want

Paying customers get a max of 3.

  • EA offered two versions of the game: One without any ridiculous restrictions, and one crippled version. The crippled version is available in stores eveywhere. The working version is on the pirate bay. Me, I’ll choose the working version every time. EA encourages piracy by treating their customers like criminals.
