Obviously the world didn’t end on Wednesday when the Large Hadron Collider fired its first particle beam. The geeks at the LHC aren’t going to make anything that will kill us. They even have a couple of webcams so wannabe’s like you and I can see what’s going on. So far, there are only two of ‘em but I’m sure more will come later on. Just screenshots above, the live ones are here. Enjoy!

lmao, that was good
Clever. Shoulda’ seen it coming.
So, are we in heaven or in Hell now?
One thing is sure, we still can read CG from here and that is a good point ^^
Every time I read the name of this machine I read it as “Large Hardon Collider”…which totally changes the meaning of the whole thing.
For a second there I thought ‘holy s#it..’
Yeah, I saw it linked on an earlier article… even though I thought “why isn’t this under the CERN web domain, and how come the webcam is so fast,” my first reaction was “holy sh1t” and I did get scared for a second there.
It’s really well done, by the way. It’s the flashing red lights on the doors, and the webcam jerk, that really sell it.
that was good, only till u realize that it wont happen, lol!!!
This is the most powerful and the largest project in the history of human science, which has shaken the head of the whole world, with it’s life taking threats. But everything went fine.
Moreover, a TV news channel claimed that the machine stopped working just after a few hours of it started. If this is right, it’s a matter of pity.
I think these are all such rumours are meant to spoil the status of biggest machine ever :)
