Does the phrase ‘bone conduction’ freak anyone else out? Today, GameChanger (such a clever name) announced the Audio Bone 1.0 headphones. These bone conducting ‘phones are said to be more comfortable and a healthier alternative than traditional earbuds or in-ears. Makes a bit of sense since they won’t irritate the hell out of me after an hour of use. I don’t know the science behind all this, but those with hearing loss can benefit from these new-fangled-bone-conducting headphones because they bypass the eardrum. Creepy, right?

They retail for $190 and come in black, orange and blue. We’ll have a review this week. Oh, and they’re waterproof.

  • At first it seems creepy, but really the sound is quite good. We’ve tested a pair today, and while it’s not as loud as standard headphones, that’s probably a good thing.

We put them under a faucet, no sound loss. And they don’t have any foam to get wet or soggy from sweating with them. Can’t wait to see your review.
