I did what the article said. It hid them temporarily, however when I download any other app from the ap store, it brings back my hidden apps. By the way, I don’t know if it specified in the article, bit I just but one app per page until the last one and did it that way.

sorry, to clarify, the “which” in my last “(WHICH YOU CANT ACTUALLY DO W/O JAILBREAKING, HENCE THE POINT OF THIS ARTICLE)” was referring to actually deleting the default apps, which you cant do w/o jailbreaking it. you can only “banish”/hide them (if you don’t jailbreak)

There seems to be some miscommunication here:

1) If you want to delete 3rd party apps (APPS THAT YOU INSTALLED AFTER YOU BOUGHT YOUR IPHONE OR IPOD) then yes, just press and hold an app on the home screen until they all start wiggling and then press the “x”’s to delete them.

2) If you want to delete a DEFAULT APPLE APP (the ones that came PREINSTALLED– i.e. stocks, weather, camera, youtube, calendar, photos) then you have to jailbreak it.

3) If you don’t want to jailbreak it, but you want to delete a DEFAULT APPLE APP (the ones that came PREINSTALLED– i.e. stocks, weather, camera, youtube, calendar, photos) then do what the god damned article says which is closest to deleting them (WHICH YOU CANT ACTUALLY DO W/O JAILBREAKING, HENCE THE POINT OF THIS ARTICLE)

Author of this article is an idiot. There is *NO WAY* to delete pre-installed applications. Hiding an icon is not the same as “deleting” it you fricking retard.

if u have downloaded the app from itunes, delete it in your applications library (selecting ‘move to recycling bin’ on second prompt) and next time u
sync, it will be automatically deleted.

by the way, im only 11.

Hold down the icon STOCKS for a few seconds and when it starts to wiggle do you see an X to delete it? No… read the thread before posting useless comments.

To delete those apps, jailbreak, then use SSH to remove as listed above.

Or maybe Hugo’s fingers are magic?

Tap and hold down the icon of the application you want to delete. After a few seconds your screen will start to “wiggle” and an X will appear next to each of the apps you’ve installed via the App Store.
Tap the X next to the icon of the app you want to remove. When prompted, select Delete

The thing you idiots are missing is that the title tells you which apps this article is about: Apple’s apps. That’s pretty clear. Not third-party apps, Apple’s apps.

If you have a jailbroken iPhone you can delete the system apps if you so desire.

Just access your phone via ssh, go in the ‘applications’ folder and delete the folder called ’stocks’

we still didnt get solution in here..we dont mean we want to HIDE buddies!! we want to delete(arase) mind u ,those applications are not part of “Iphone Ingine” they probably can be removed! but how!?
