Kawasaki Heavy Industries plans to develop Japan’s fastest train [JP], which is expected to achieve a speed of 350km per hour. The current record for the Shinkansen, this country’s bullet train, stands at about 300kph.
Kawasaki says their so-called efSET (environmentally friendly Super Express Train) will also be more energy efficient, less noisy and offer a better riding comfort through a superior electrical control mechanism and a highly aerodynamic body design.
It will take the company about 1.5 years to finalize the design of the train, after which production and sales can start. After testing it in Japan, Kawasaki plans to turn the efSET into a worldwide bestseller.

The only reason these trains are not in america is because they would put the airlines out of business. One last point… of course the trains run a bit slower when in the city, but running at top speed they are so comfortable you don’t even notice it.
Nice try…in Europe however we have trains already going faster than that…
Yeah, well in America, we have trains that go slow enough to let you jump off and get back on without them stopping.
There can be no Transport trucks in the future, the faster America embraces this reality the faster the recession will end. The airlines have got to go.
