It’s the final review of Mouse Review Week! Are you freaking out? I know I am! Because I’m finally reviewing this Razer mouse I’ve been too busy using for the last month or so. You guys have to watch the video because I took extra care on the ending. Not so much on the screencast portion (wtf@encoder). Click below for a few words and pictures if you haven’t had enough after the epic mouse journey above.

What can I say? This is the best mouse of the bunch. The other mice had their strengths, and I’m not saying this is the only mouse you should consider, but I do think it’s the best. Why? I’ll tell you.
First, this mouse is comfortable as all hell. My hand conforms to it naturally and I don’t feel that any fingers are hanging free or gripping in any weird places. There are no misplaced buttons to hit. The material is good. Everything is big enough but not too big. It’s subtly designed for a right hand (lefties won’t work at all) and feels natural at it. It works on Windows and OS X (since the latest revision).
The software is pretty much what you expect: all the usual configuration options. It doesn’t have an easy DPI switch button like the Ikari or Sidewinder, but its On-the-fly sensitivity is so easy to use that you don’t really need it. One extra button under the scroll wheel might not have been unwelcome, but who can say?
The motion and tracking are absolutely flawless in this mouse. It’s still as a rock at rest, goes in a straight line when it needs to, but doesn’t interfere with any movements at all. It’s as good as the Logitech G9 there and possibly better. One thing it doesn’t have on the G9 is the scroll wheel. The Death Adder’s scroll wheel is just fine, but Logitech’s frictionless wheels are just so nice, I feel like every mouse company in the world should be tripping over each other to try to copy it. Nope! Ah well. Fortunately nothing stops me from switching back and forth whenever I want.
Really, this is one of the best mice I’ve ever used. It’s replaced my G9 when I never thought that would happen, and it weathered the attacks of all these newcomers as well. There isn’t anything seriously wrong with it and I think its shape will be comfortable to all but the biggest or smallest hands. If you win this thing in the contest, consider yourself lucky. That said, the Death Adder only costs $50 if you look around. I highly recommend you check this sucker out if you’re at all thinking of upgrading or replacing. And if you don’t have the cash to spend, I’m telling you: contest!

Best. Finale. Ever.
is the scrollwheel free scrolling?
totally agree on the ending. LMAO!
hahaha que mostroo de mauisee de panaa… es el mejor para jugar counter striker y call of duty 4 es demaciadoo arrechoooo !
¡Coño, un Venezolano! ¿Te gusta este ratón más que el Ikari Laser?
I gotta say that all the reviews were very helpful.
I appreciate all the effort you put into making he videos. Nothing better then seeing the mouse is action.
Hey I bought this mouse from Best Buy a few weeks ago, but today, the 2 macro side buttons stopped working.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Side buttons still work for me. I’m having issues with the middle mouse button being massively overly sensitive. Plus the left mouse button is being extremely flaky. I’ve cleaned it out a few times, but the problem doesn’t go away. The plastic coating on the mouse is peeling off. This mouse WAS quite nice. Wear and tear on it for the last 3 years has really done a number on it. It worked well for about a year. I don’t recommend this mouse for long term use :(
I bought the deathadder a few weeks ago, love the feel and precision, and couldnt wait to be able to jump/reload etc whilst still using the keyboard to move around, but the extra buttons don’t work in games.
I’ve tried older drivers, emailing razer support and can’t find a fix on google so i’m going to save up and get a logitech instead.
Shame cos I really like the mouse.
Great mouse. The buttons on the side can be programmed in eq2 for sure. The scroll wheel is breaking on mine (jumping) so i will send it back for replacment. Its a little large imo for finger tip controll but still doable. The lights can be toglled off via software. Scroll sensitivity is adjustable via software as well. The scroll wheel is not free scrolling, its grooved.
