It’s like Marble Madness, except it’s a desk.
by Greg Kumparak on September 20, 2008

You could drop a few grand on a desk, and it’d still be just that: a desk. Plain and simple, little more than an extravagant dinner tray. Tineke Beunder wanted more than that. Tineke Beunder wanted a desk that wowed all that dared rest their eyes on it.

So Tineke Beunder built “Marbelous”, the awesome work of woodcarving you see above. Drop the marbles through the top, and they’ll race through the twisted maze of chutes and tunnels, where they pool up in a collection cup at the base (and don’t fall to the floor to become head-busting land mines, contrary to the picture above.) It’s an awesome idea – until your kid thinks a rock or his G.I Joe’s head will fit down one of the tracks.
