"This weekend, the Reader Digital Book by Sony will be available in Target stores nationwide. Beginning September 14, the PRS-505 model will be featured in the "Discovery Hub" endcap in the electronics section of all 1,634 Target stores. With the purchase of a Reader, consumers will also receive a coupon code to download a free copy of 'The Other Queen' by Philippa Gregory from the eBook Store by Sony. 'The Other Queen' is slated for release on September 16."

1634 Target stores, plus Target online, plus Sony online. And you can return them to any Target store. A pretty big plus.

You know, if Target sells just 100-200 per store, they will probably have equaled, or surpassed, Amazon's total Kindle sales for the year. btw, they just started selling Sony Readers in the UK, too.

Thanks for the link and the hugely funny post.

Of course the pics are bad. They were taken with one of those $20 digicams you see in blister packs in Virgin MegaStore and chain drugstores. Not even a viewfinder! Plus, I happened to drop it once, so since then I can't get a properly-centered picture to save my life.
