Should have said in commercial: “I’m not a Mac, I’m not a PC… I am part of the 1%+ of 30 year old virgin MacSux T-Shirt wearing dweebs that realize having the ability to update various hardware AND software components of my gaming system in a true capitalistic American way by finding affordable prices from a plethora of sources for products...bla bla bla...the usual 2 digit gamer BS.

BTW, your retort makes no sense at all. In the first sentence you changed "blind hatred" to "blind love", and then in the second sentence you retain the original "malicious". How is "love" malicious?
Do you even know what malicious means?

If you use the antonym to "hatred" in the first sentence, then for your response to make any sense at all, you need to use the antonym of "malicious" in the second sentence. A good choice would have been "benevolent", but then your statement would be complimentary. But this is not what I think you intended.

Just parroting what others say, and changing words without understanding their meaning, only makes you look foolish and ignorant. ;-)

What a whiny bitch. Steve Jobs isn't interested in the money nearing as much as bill gates was. He doesn't even take money out of the company. He gets paid in like dividends or something. But point being, he doesn't get a monthly paycheck just for being the president. Check it out here:
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/pr?s=AAPL
yahoo's profile page for Apple. Middle of the page, right hand side.
Next time don't whine so much you cheap ass mama's boy mother fucker.

If you hate Apple, Jobs, or mac users it is so about you and not Jobs or the company. Especially if you are foolish enough to compare Microsoft to Apple with Microsoft in a positive light.

It's amazing what blind love there is for anything having to do with Apple. But, what's even more pathetically amazing is how such people use totally malicious information
to support their illogical and/or incorrect views.

This is comment of the day? Really? Matt, leave the link baiting to Calacanis or Dvorak. At least in their convoluted views, there's a miniscule chance at finding a relevant point. "Nate"s argument is as balanced as Heather Mills riding a unicycle.

My mistake, I guess I forgot to add the "pro". Regardless, it is you who is ignorant. An entry-level MBP as you suggest only offers a 2.4GHz processor, 160GB HDD, and 2GB of RAM. A loaded Dell XPS on the other hand has a 2.6GHz process, 4GB RAM, and get a minimum of 250GB HDD. Even for a regular MB, you can configure a Dell XPS the same and still get more bang for the buck. So, what were you trying to say?

Hmmm. You hate Steve Jobs because of what he MIGHT have done as the head of MS--so you're a mind reader and basing your hate on what you think might happen.

You unclearly seem to be saying that you can't upgrade Macs. That's so 20th century. Macs are easy to upgrade. However, as Endless Mike points out, most people don't upgrade their computers. They simply get new ones. Why? For the same reason most people don't upgrade their cars with new engines. Too much trouble. They just get a new car.

The problem with the now-kitchy "i" prefix is not that Apple uses it. After all, Microsoft slaps their name on everything. No, the problem is that everyone else, from trashcans to web services to pencil sharpeners uses it. Everyone is trying to latch onto Apples (perceived) popularity. And it would seem that you're too busy playing WOW in your mother's basement to be worried about having any degree of popularity.

Apple has forced NOBODY to be iPod ready. Not one person. Not one group. Not one corporation. You, sir, are a liar.

Apple doesn't force anyone to buy their products or upgrade. You, sir, are a liar.

You're angry with your claim that Apple is trying to make money--what you call forcing "money into their pockets." Making money is capitalism, and here you say you are against it. However earlier, you say you are in favor of "a true capitalistic American" way. You, sir, are a hypocrite.

So you're a liar and a hypocrite.

Look. If you don't like Apple, that's fine. Just say so. But coming up with absurd, contradictory, hypocrisy and lies just makes you look bad.

Oh, and Rev, Apple doesn't make a MacBook for $2,000. Perhaps you mean a MacBook Pro and you're just ignorant. If you do mean a MacBook Pro, you should know that 1) unlike the Dell you mention, the MBP is made for a different consumer, and 2) the "fully loaded" Dell you mention has features that barely equal the lowest, entry level MBP! Sure, a Yugo is cheaper than a Ford Mustang and a Mustang is cheaper than a Ferrari. If you want a Yugo, enjoy! But you should be embarrassed by your ignorance that you have placed out for all to see.

And laugh at you.

I think I found my Valentine.

Apple is the most pompous company on the planet. Hell, the company can't even limit itself to only naming ONE aspect of its business "genius". You have the "genius" employees, and the "genius" iTunes software. I bet next we're going to get the "divine" version of OS X.

I bet Jobs really does consider himself God. Those directly below him are Jesus/Mohammad/your choice, the people below them are the patron saints. Everyone else at the company is a lowly genius.

This is quite possibly the most retarded editorial I have ever read.

Apple sells a product, they can price it at what they want. Look to any other industries and there is always a high and a low. Do you want to buy a North Face jacket or a Columbia? Wear Levis or Diesel?

Also...Apple is both a hardware and software manufacture where as Microsoft just produces software so I am not sure how you can even compare the two.

There is a significant difference in design between Apple and any of the hardware manufacturers. This is added value people are willing to pay for obviously.

Finally, as someone mentioned previously...most PC users do not upgrade their machine as they don't know how and to be honest in the long run you end up spending more upgrading every few months rather than just waiting 2-3 years to get a new machine. Further, the majority of machines that are sold these days are notebooks so that point is moot anyways considering there are very few upgrades you can do to a notebook beyond adding ram and maybe swapping out for a larger drive but how many people are doing that?

I thought I was done, but there is one more point here. Apple revolutionized the way we listen to music for better or worse. Don't for a second try to tell me that the ipod is not the best product on the market for playing mp3s. Any success they have enjoyed because of the ipod is well deserved because it is better than anything else out there. If you disagree to this you either only listen to vinyl or just have a hate on for anything apple.

This is quite possibly the most retarded editorial I have ever read.

Apple sells a product, they can price it at what they want. Look to any other industries and there is always a high and a low. Do you want to buy a North Face jacket or a Columbia? Wear Levis or Diesel?

Also…Apple is both a hardware and software manufacture where as Microsoft just produces software so I am not sure how you can even compare the two.

So your saying that the Apple's iPod is not an MP3 player? Then what is it? Oh, that's right, just because it has a "i" in front of it mean it's in a class of its own.

Let's be fair here. Aside from some of the facts not being too accurate as mentioned, the main point that any sensible person can get out of this letter is Jobs/Apple loves to empty your wallet. What they do is synonymous to a gas station charging 50 cents more than the other one right across the street while saying they have "special" additives that give you better fuel milage. The price to performance ratio of a Mac is really ridiculously high compared to a PC (ex: anyone could buy a fully loaded Dell XPS 1530, get a faster Intel processor, more RAM, larger HDD, and still pay less than what a $2000 MacBook). If you still want to use OSX, its really not that hard to get it to run on duel boot along side Windows, if your into that kind of thing.

Microsoft has received a lot of attention for its dominance over the past decade, but its starting to give in. Apple and Google are the next in line to get slapped with a host of lawsuits for their monopolistic control on their products, probably not by US, rather from the European Union cracking down hard on them just like they did with Microsoft.

Wait, the majority of people take the time to personally upgrade their hardware? No, I think the majority of people say "wah my computer is too slow (note that my hard drive is nearly full and has never once been defragged) I need a new one" and then go to Dell and buy something that is far greater than their actual needs.
