If you’ve ever experienced the frammel shake on the low end of some gold remasters you’ll understand why you need Furutech’s $1,800 power cable. As we all know, once you get past a certain shark wave threshold you have to pull back your amps or your watts will get in the way of the mid tones. By damping the whiffle on high tweets you can use this cable to ceramic-ally isolate the Yanni wave near the end of downbeats and, after turning the rhodium-plated rare metal conductors to the proper twist frequency you can create toroid waves which will cancel out interference from blenders, microwaves, and low-flying helicopters. If you care about music, friends, you owe it to yourself to pick this thing up.

I love that you guys use a tag called “fools and money”
This is very useful because clearly, the thousands of feet of wiring running from the power plant to your home use cabling as ridiculous as this, and so the 6 feet between the socket and your amplifier matter even more.
The issue they combat very well is that sometimes, little gremlins sneak into power supply, and so cables like this fight that with their oxygen-free technology. Personally, I’ve ordered a couple, anyone want to do a group buy to save on shipping?
“rhodium-plated” is comedic gold.
I love comments by guys who can’t hear the difference. I auditioned this cable (vs $250-$500 cords from Oyaide and Shunyata) and it was amazing. Yes, it is VERY expensive. But TRY one on your CDP and see if you want to go back.
My opening comment was a bit harsh, so allow me to make amends…
YES, this is a very expensive cord; more expensive than the great majority of people can afford, or are willing to pay. It’s also true that if your system is not already pretty sophisticated & highly revealing, this cord won’t “transform” it. And NO, I would never suggest you put a $2K power cord on a $500 CD player. That would be silly & wasteful.
HOWEVER, if you re starting out with a pretty nice rig, you might find this cord a very worthwhile investment – a sonic improvement similar to upgrading a major component.
In my case, I was auditioning power cords for my ($6K) EAR Acute CDP. I started out with my ’standard’ ($250) Shunyata Diamondback. Then I spent a week with the ($400) Oyaide Tunami GPX and a few days with the ($500) GPXR.
Both provided inmprovements, but with some trade-offs. The GPX was nice & warm, but not as clean. the GPXR was more detailed, but a bit briight.
Then we tried the $2K Furutech… which I had no intention of buying. ( We included it as a too-expensive reference, to compare the Oyaide cords to.) The problem was that the Furutech had all the best attributes, and none of the drawbacks, or thr other two, PLUS quieter, more dynamic, less colored, better imaging, and just more “live” sounding in every way.
So I was shopping in the $500 price-range (which some of you may still think too pricey, I know). But after hearing the difference, there was no way I could settle. I had to scape up the bucks… or forever know what I was missing!
Regarding the ‘tech talk’; It may not be of interest, but it’s not nonsense. I’ve compared identical cables with Oyaide connectors using different plating materials (Yes Ben, including rhodium), and each of them colored the sound differently. If that sounds like “snake oil”, it’s just because you haven’t heard it. I was HIGHLY skeptical myself. But my ears don’t lie!
So, I agree that $2K for a piece of wire sounds ridiculous. But the SOUND I got from it is definitely worth $2K. I completely understasnd that you’ll need to HEAR this (on an appropriately revealing system) to believe it. But until you do… shhhhh.
