Unbelievably sweet $12,000 all-carbon-fiber road bike from Delta 7

I was just saying yesterday how my bike could probably use an upgrade — This seems like a logical step up. At $12,000 (and that’s before you customize it), the Ascend and its country cousin the Arantix aren’t really bargains, but at 1.8 pounds(frame only, that is), it’d be like riding a cloud around. The unorthodox “Isotruss” lattice style of woven carbon fiber obviously has less mass, but as the material is stronger than steel, it requires less to provide the strength and rigidity prized by road bikers.

I’m not a fan of this bike, it looks stupid. I’ll take my much heavier schwinn any day of the week.

Awesome.

I picked up a Specialized Globe a few months ago, and have put it through its paces. The frame has held up well so far, and its fine when you have to cross a crappy road. Worth a look if you’re in the market.

And I thought my Specialized Rockhopper 29er was light. This is about 27lbs lighter. WTF.
I wonder what I can fit between those weaves. Water bottle? iphone? dumbells?

Did I read that right? 1.8 pounds? How the hell can that only weigh 1.8 pounds? I hope by that you mean the frame without all the extras!

It takes a leap of faith that a frame that looks like it was made of bent paperclips will hold you up. It would take a court order to have my butt touch that racing seat.
Seriously… that looks like solid weapons-grade metal.
I’m staying on the sofa, thank you.
