This is fun. The off-the-shelf price in the US for Adobe CS4 is $2500. The price in the UK is £2300. What’s wrong with this picture? Either the dollar jumped in price a lot over the last couple days while I wasn’t looking (unlikely) or Adobe needs to stop outsourcing its accounting to toddlers. The difference between those prices is so great that the Inquirer points out that you could (and should) fly to the United States, purchase a copy at Fry’s or whatever, fly back to the UK, and still have enough money to take your mates out for a drink.
Or, as they also say, order it on Amazon in whatever currency. But that’s so boring.

Frye’s is called Fry’s or you could look at frys.com LOL it’s a geek store from hell :) and I used to work there………..
We on setteB.IT did the same for euro currency, CS4 Master Collection costs a giant 3,000 euros (4,335 USD) without taxes or 3,600 euros (5,200 USD) with taxes (Italian). So if you fly from Rome or Milan to NYC + sleep in Times Square + eat in a steakhouse + take taxis + give generous tips to anybody + buy CS4 Master Collection + fly back to Milan or Rome you’ll have in your pocket 600 euros. http://www.setteb.it/url/?NkR0D (in Italian) or http://www.setteb.it/url/?bluC3 (in English)
I did this with CS3 (same stupid pricing structures). Got a flight from the UK to LA (my friend lives there, so got a few beers in too!) and it still worked out less.
What gets me frustrated with CS4 is that why doesn’t it cost the same as the US online store when I want to do is just download it? Surely I am saving them money from packaging and localised distribution (and the environmentally of course).
I’ll give CS4 a miss… unless I plan any trips to the US soon ;-)
ADOBE CS4 Master Collection just for £189! Only 4 copies available. Contact new_saturn03@yahoodotcom
I bought mine from estockware.com, cheapest that I’ve seen.
