In conjunction with the release of Iron Man in Blu-Ray Casio has announced the EQW-500DBE-1AVER, a Waveceptor watch with alarm, world time, two stop watches, and an automatic backlit face. It uses a dual-region radio to automatically sync with atomic clocks around the world.
Interestingly, this red, white, and blue confection is being touted as a Iron Man watch in the UK, which doesn’t quite make sense. Presumably the Iron Man suit has a built-in HUD with the time. Why would Iron Man strap on a watch? It reminds me of this guy who used to sit in computer class in front of a Windows 98 machine and ask “Hey, does anyone know the time?”
Anyway, the watch should make its way over here for about $500. I like Casio Waveceptors but this one’s complicated face might be a bit jarring for a certain subset of horology buffs.

How do you tell the time?
Dude, this would have to be a Tony Stark watch cause you couldn’t fit this watch around the Iron Man suits wrist. And it would probably interfere with launching rockets or whatever from his wrist comparments.
Oh geez man. This is that Iron Man race. I thought you were talking about the comic book character. Sorry about that.
wow one very complex looking piece of machinery, very impressive CASIO you are quickly falling into number two.
The chronograph has always been the best looking watch. When I was seven or 47 - it will always be my first choice. Then add technical coolness - I would buy one for less than $250. $500 is retail and a little too steep.
Can Casio spend $0.25 more and put a scratch resistant glass instead than that cheap plastic crystals?
I like it. Way over the top. It will confuse the hapless natives. Stupid complex,I want one.
It’s the Iron Man watch because it’s what Tony Stark wears in the film. Real-life “action man” David Coulthard is associated with the Ediface range this watch belongs to. So it’s the choice of superheroes and F1 drivers.
