The Sega Vision is not what you think it is

Our skepticism regarding the Sega Vision was well-placed. While the device is real insofar as you can buy it, it’s not Sega’s re-entry into video game hardware.

The company told Unofficial RPG Site that the Vision is “primarily an MP4 video player with some basic games functionality, and not a new handheld gaming machine.” Furthermore, the device isn’t manufactured by Sega at all, but rather some no-name Chinese company. It’s merely one of those dime-a-dozen portable media players with a Sega logo tacked on.

Whoever thought Sega would introduce proper, new hardware in this economy with no hype whatsoever must be, at the very least, a silly goose.
