Get right the hell outta town with this thing. Here’s a blender – a blender – using wireless power. It’s the result of “eCoupled intelligent wireless power” which has been created by Fulton Innovation. The company is working on building the same magical power system into other “high-powered kitchen devices like blenders, grills, and coffee makers.” No word on when we’ll actually see these things in our own kitchens or how much it’s gonna cost at first. All I know is that I want it.

  • Wow, I want this technology in TVs!

  • I can see it now, I upgrade my countertop to the new eCoupled technology in December and in January Apple releases an iPhone 4G that requires me to upgrade my countertop to charge it. Can’t wait.

  • This is not new as far as possible, the trick is making it making not wasteful. Moving electrons through the air is not new, it just the air is everywhere where as copper shielded and has a better performance characteristic. Transmitting through the air on short distances can be done but I expect the power bill would still jump for using this.

  • Considering the woman demoing this seem to struggle when lifting this, it is probably a simple inductive coupling with a battery. Nothing really new here.

It would be quite impressive if this countertop was able to deliver 15+ amps of current.

  • With out using 30amps to get the 15 there…..

  • I’d say its a form of inductive coupling. I just wonder what kind of havok this type of technology is going to play on your phones and other wireless devices.
