Some genius stole more than 100 copies of Fable II and Gears of War 2 from a Tennessee warehouse, selling a number of them on the black market. The man, Technicolor employee Rodney Gray, was found with some 31 games on his person; police found several more copies of the games, as well as other DVDs, elsewhere.
All told, police found more than $100,000 worth of stolen games and DVDs.
Now, is this related to today’s leak of Gears of War 2? I mean, that the game leaked a full three weeks before its release date is a pretty big deal, and you know Microsoft and Epic are none too pleased. In fact, Microsoft had this to say about the game’s leak:
We do not comment on police investigations in progress.
Police investigation? Good luck, bro, to the guy responsible for the leak. Methinks Microsoft and Epic aren’t messing around.
Ironic: Cliff Bleszinski’s quote about PC piracy being a problem. I’ve spent the better part of the day in various IRC rooms and the kids there are dripping with sarcasm vis-à-vis that quote.

Fact is, EPIC has released PC Gears 1 title with editor!
Even if EPIC decides not to publish a PC version of Gears 2, your still going to see this sequel pirated and later ported to the PC through a series of reverse engineering the associated paths from 360 to PC.
It would be in EPIC’s best favor to release a PC version and deal with that small 20:1 ratio.
EPIC made millions off its previous title and this is exactly the reason why people steal. People aren’t stupid, they are desperate. They have every reason to be…
Common sense.
