Knight Rider definitely hasn’t earned praise from the car or nerd communities thanks to an overwhelming story line and a cheesy K.I.T.T but that hasn’t stopped NBC from ordering up a full season of the show. The Micheal Knight wannabe will be back for at least nine more episodes or until NBC suits wake up and cancel the remake.
Hot or Not: New Knight Rider TV series
I decided to give this a shot and tried to watch it the other night. I couldn’t make it more than 15 minutes.
I don’t know, the suits at NBC are usually dead on in their assessments. NBC has so many other shows holding them up, hits like Seinfeld. And Friends. And the hit sequel Joey! And the always highly rated MSNBC. Who are we to judge?
This will probably sound angry and it’s really not to meant to be it’s just something I’ve been noticing lately and everyone is entitled to their own opinion, unless it sucks.
Jesus Christ lord, People are picking these days. Coming onto car forums , technology forums, and technology blogs reminds me how much people bitch about stupid shit. The show isn’t that bad, there’s definitely a lot worse shows on the air that I have no clue why they continue. Like … Hero’s, there I said it.
I actually watch Knight Rider with my friends in HD every time my TV records it. I think the laid back less serious nature of the show is refreshing, all these shows are so serious, life is rough, I don’t want to come home and be reminded how rough it actually is.

its not the stories I have a problem with its KITT.
I mean he frelling breaks EVERY GOD DAMNED EPISODE. and a FRAKING MUSTANG? THATS the “highest” high tech futuristic design they could come up with. Considering his transformations can you say PAID FOR BY FORD.
Its a freaking DOWNGRADE from the original knight rider. they DUMBED DOWN the car for god sake. it should be BETTER than the old not worse.
I mean lets look at the first episode.
He is being HACKED over his wireless. Ahh lets see here I was SCREAMING for portions of that episode
UNPLUG THE F*&KING RADIO !!! MY GOD that was so damned hard.
New kit I will be taken over in 40 seconds blah blah blah
Old Kit. Micheal they are attempting to hack into my wireless connection. Well one of two things would happen.
#1 he reverse hacks them and blows up there computer
#2 he TURNS OFF THE DAMNED RADIO
I mean COME THE HELL ON.
I like the characters. The new micheal is hip and fun I like him.
I like the new kit voice. I did not at first but they did something to it and its growing on me. I also like that they FINALLY figured out and IMPLIMENTED what made kit good. He was FUNNY and LEARNED.
the Pilot movie kitt BLEW so they did fix that.
but GET OVER these “break downs” folks. its supposed to be about the PERSONALITIES and the MORALS not the frelling cars tech thats SECONDARY they made it PRIMARY and because of that they HAVE to break him every episode of he would be too powerful and just always win instantly.
and then he is GOV NOW !!! what the hell did DHS pay them to make it that way or something?
The foundation is supposed to be SEPARATE FROM GOVERNMENT not freaking PART of it. that makes is so stinking lame.
DROP the gov interactions he is supposed to be solo with his team NO GOV backup and “rules” except making the world RIGHT.
STOP making it about the tech and start making it about the STORY and DROP the breaking down every frelling episode!
The VETT in knight rider 2000 was a GAZILLION times better than the “stinking” mustang.
Off course they even have to put in the NORMAL stinking “gas engine” (more ford payola)
the “transforming” just sucks. With all his LIMITATIONS and PROBLEMS he is able to materialize MATTER on command to make himself into vehicles that contain MORE MATTER than is possibly able to FIT in his damned shell.
you SEE the car “come apart” and transform SO WHERE THE HELL is the sub structure holding this all together.
Everything in knight rider was “out there” but WITHIN the realm of REALITY within the potential of our technology.
This new kit has things that are just pure fantasy with NO basis in reality. at the MOST if they want to change him it should be a MORPHING ability a semi solid fluid skin that can alter is physical shape but it should SHOW from the inside that thats all it is a SHOW and not “real”
how do the seats change while there sitting it in? it had NORMAL E150 captains chairs in that van? where did they come from.
These DISCREPANCIES are why all these god damned remakes are FAILING FOLKS!!!
They take good material and say lets just throw a bunch of effects at it even if they make absolutely positively ZERO sense whatsoever PEOPLE WANT EFFECTS.
NO they want GOOD FRELLING WRITING with decent effects to MATCH the writing and some semblance of REALITY.
THESE early shows like this.
Star Trek, Airwolf, Knight Rider, A-Team, Quantum Leap etc.. etc..
The POINT of these shows. WHAT MADE these shows SO DAMNED GOOD and SO DAMNED COMPELLING was that MORALS were involved. PEOPLE were involved.
It was not always giant corporations or military madmen (well airwolf had its share of that but it made sense for that show)
it was about PEOPLE. each show had a MESSAGE a “moral of the story”
SUPPORT the people. Put on a good show. Good acting Good Story.
Instead of taking these WONDERFULLY compelling stories and sprucing them up with new effects they REPLACED the “core” of the shows WITH effects.
Sorry that just does not work.
If this show was a STAND ALONE show and had NOTHING to do with Knight Rider it would not be all that bad. Its really a pretty “ok” show not great but certainly watchable.
but its CALL KNIGHT RIDER he is CALLED MICHEAL KNIGHT
IT DOES NO WORK. this is a step back a DOWNGRADE from the original 20 year old knight rider. Thats not good folks.
I hope they can fix it. I hope they can salvage it because I would really like to get some more KNIGHT RIDER to watch. but I want KNIGHT RIDER not high tech flashy no substance CRAP.

Life On Mars
NCIS
The Mentalist
Dexter
Eli Stone
Burn Notice
And Crusoe is looking like it might be in that list soon too
These are PHENOMINAL programs. TRULY excellent programs that I “DESIRE” to watch every week. Its like a DRUG FIX to watch these shows I literally get excited with anticipation for upcoming episodes of these programs.
GOOD STORIES. GOOD EFFECT when needs. a MESSAGE to deliver. JUST good damned programming.
These programs are 90% good writing and 10% fluff
Knight Rider is 20% writing 110% fluff (yeah its that weird)
IT HAD potential! it really does there is enough good stuff that I keep coming back. PLEASE fix the show folks. PLEASE fix it.
