HTC Touch Diamond followed by the HTC Touch Pro; HTC Touch HD followed by the HTC Touch HD Pro? Could be.
The mockup here shows what the device could look like—the same HTC Touch HD we’ve all know and love, maybe, with a QWERTY keyboard tacked on.
Again, this rumor mainly came about because of the “Device, Device Pro” progression we’ve seen for other HTC products. That is to say it’s tenuous at best.

Holy Crap! Want! I was going to get a touch pro on Sprint. I pray they get this phone. I know Sprint, everyone hates them but I get good service and unlimited everything for 100 bucks. Its great as I use a ton of data since Opera came out and I can stream XM online through it.
I really hope they drag this out, I think a version is inevitable though since the screen is probably going to be the new standard. Damn, I really don’t have the money to buy a new phone every year.
Can’t say I am a fan of the thing not having a D-Pad, but then again this is jus a Touch HD with a keyboard photoshopped under it, theres no official word on if they do make a Touch HD Pro that it will or will not have a Dpad.
I know, I would love the qwerty keyboard on the HD more that the Touch Pro(not to mention it would look so much better)! Then since WM 6.1 is lacking so much! HTC should switch to Android, so that way the phone can have some greater competition against the iphone. Since the Android software is free and open, unlike the iphone’s same(yet simple) UI, the HD will continue to evolve in it own way, that could probably shave a couple of $100 of the final production! To make it a more affordable price like the iphone 3g! Now that will be a sight to see!
Stop going “its open!” “its open!” “it’s open!”
I assure you android will be more locked down than Windows Mobile is.
Do you honestly think Verizon or Sprint or ATT will give you the source code?
Do you honestly think they will allow you to reflash your phone with your own distro of Android?
It dosen’t even have a file browser to let you see the files stored on the phone for crying out loud!
Windows Mobile is a hundred times better on the being “open” category than Android is, I can do and replace anything I want in a WinMo phone, even if it is closed source.
If i was able to lose my virginity to a phone… this would be it.
They will definitely make this. It is the natural progression like the Diamond to the Pro, and why wouldn’t they make a PRO version of the HD since a keyboard has no relationship to a full screen and I shouldn’t have to sacrifice one for the other.
At least HTC is finally on the right track, since I think Apple is too proud to attach a full keyboard and will pay the price.
Either way I’m holding off on the HD and Touch Pro until an HD Pro is available (probably Spring 2009). All those people who bought Touch Pro’s are going to be pissed, but then again HTC had no problem screwing all the people who bought Diamonds with the HD.
