I love The Big Bang Theory TV show and while yesterday’s episodes wasn’t the greatest, it did provide a great close-up of something on Leonard and Sheldon’s wall, but I still don’t know what it is. Call me crazy, but I enjoy identifying different objects in movies and TV shows and I haven’t been able to figure out WTF this thing is. It appears to be to a row of large fuses made into an art thingie, but that just doesn’t feel right. Any ideas?
Another pic after the jump.

It looks like the action from a piano.
That’s weird, because I just noticed that last night and was wondering what it was…the piano action is the only thing I could think of.
Looks like a DVD rack 2 me.
A rack for cassette tapes I would say.
Yeah, it almost looks like a rack of old radio carts (similar to 8-tracks)… but not quite. I’m not sure.
If they are data tapes, that would be in keeping with the show theme.
It looks like a grounding strap, like the one in the server room at work.
part of a xylophone, but most likely action from piano
I doubt that is a musical instrument action. I agree it is a grounding / power distribution buss (most likely the latter). I suspect the grouping of the six attached devices are probably fuses of some sort.
If you watch the show, would you think it is more likely an artistic devcie like a musical instrument component or rather a device more strictly technological like an electrical component?
foot pedals from an old organ?
It’s his “bedpost”… its “notches” for each time he pounded your mom :)

thats so funny you should post it twice envy … oh wait
I was actually in the studio the other day, and they had this old, old mixing console there. And they used to have to hang the amplifier tubes above the console, because the technology didnt exist to put them in the machine itself. (hahaha) They had something that looked very similar to your picture at the studio. That is what I believe it is.
I am almost it is a synthesizer keyboard as is if you took the back of the keyboard off, so the insides were exposed, and placed it face down. So you could see the open back. Pretty sure.
Hi it looks to me like fuses. Is it in a binary arrangement prehaps?
