T-Mobile just does not want to sell me one of these phones. I actually tried to get in on the pre-release last night in San Francisco. NO DICE. After waiting almost 2 hours in line, I left the store without a G1. (They had plenty them, that definitely wasn't the issue.) Apparently, if you're a month-to-month subscriber like myself, T-Mobile's system isn't flexible enough to migrate your plan into a contractual one. The only way I can get a G1 at a subsidized price is to start a brand new plan with a new number! They can't even do a number port within their own network!

. . . Supremely frustrating. I guess I'll be waiting for a future Android model, off T-Mobile's network.

My roomate just got one and I have an iPhone. And while I am a die hard iPhone fan, I will say that this thing is pretty darn cool. Not the same as an iPhone hey but to each his own. Much better than any other iPhone like phone out there. That verizon thing is terrible.
