Although it is difficult to be serious about TacoBell tacos – just because it cost 9 cents of materials it doesn’t mean it costs 9 cents to hand it to you. If it takes 2 minutes to take your order, prep it in the kitchen, and hand it you while you fret over mild or hot sauce – that alone costs 66 cents assuming a minimal $20/hour operating cost associated with one worker.

These kind of mistaken calculations are exactly the reason most mom and pop restaurants fail.

The solitary taco is a loss leader.

Some Taco Bells like in Denver near Leetsdale & Monaco area do not support this as they say we don’t have to follow those rules. If so, who is pocketing the cash when a taco sells?

Someone must go after them to get the truth.

I would like to see just how many freebies they give out. I Also wonder how many screwups TB can make. The store near my house averages at least one screwup per order when I use the drive through and one screwup every 5 orders when I eat inside.
