Mitsubishi’s LaserVue HDTVs have been in the making for a while but the critically acclaimed high-def set is now available at select specialty retailers. You still might need a second mortgage – good luck getting approved – to foot the $6,999 MSRP, but the TV apparently produces a Pioneer Elite comparable picture at 1/3 the power consumption. Plus, you can tell your trendy poker buddies that you HDTV is powered by frickin laser beams. How sweet is that?

I still have my 40 inch rear projection Mitsubishi that I bought in 1986. I bought it because it had the highest lumens number and glass, instead of plastic, lenses. It’s been moved across the country and across the county. It’s had two in house repairs by a Mitsubishi only tech that took all of 10 minutes each time and cost $120 each time.
It still looks very good.
I’ll give you 3 guesses what brand I’ll be buying next!
Now we play the waiting game and wait for the price to eventually go down to a reasonable amount. Seven grand is a bit too steep especially with this failing economy, don’t you think?
bleeding edge technology does come at a price but I got to have it! My love of sports, movies and ps3/360 mean I am in front of it most of my “free” time! I just hope it arrives as planned. Also, time to remove my 380lb pioneer elite(had it since 2000 and for a RPTV I would put its pic quality against most today! But, a few burn ins and what appears to be a capacitor discharging problem means it is time to move on.
