I agree with Nicholas, though I wouldn't go as far as insulting people who did enjoy this event. I play the game for at least a couple of hours on the days I can and take my character development pretty seriously because of my limited time. I was lucky enough in that I have a character of high enough level to just go off questing and fighting horde along the way, managing to avoid most of this OTT event on that toon. However, I just gave up trying to level my new mage though - especially when level 30 something r-tards would come to the newbie areas and start off an infection effectively making gameplay impossible. Those guys are definitely worthy of insult. If I had just purchased the game and didn't know any better that it was a temporary event the situation would simply have forced me to quit...

So basically, because you didnt like the event because it broke your flow you feel anybody who did like the event was "taking it too seriously"?

Its a game whose very premise is escapism, living in another world, the virtual world is not supposed to be perfect, and most players actually enjoy these events.

If you seriously don't want the game to ever change and only want a few minutes before bed to play, then MMORPGS are clearly not meant for that.

Maybe you should consider playing a few online matches of Halo, Gears of War, Resistance, Soul Calibur, Tekken, Mario Kart, or Smash Brothers instead.

This is not meant to be an insult, I am trying to be serious. Most people who play a MMORPG play it for long adventures and exploration and love events like this.
