Review: Zagg InvisibleSHIELD Gadget Protectors

Zagg makes the InvisibleSHIELD line of gadget protectors.  The one I install in the video above is for my Canon DigitalRebel XT camera, but they make screen protectors for a dizzying number of cameras, phones, laptops, and more.

Bottom Line

Installation is quick and easy, and it really is invisible once installed. For a couple bucks, these are a pretty nice investment for protecting the display screens on your expensive gear.

  • Very cool. Do they make any products for iPhones?

  • They do, I have one installed on my iPod touch and it is really an amazing screen protector. With that thing installed I could keep my ipod in my pocket with my keys and it wont scratch. The best part for an ipod is that it is a full body protector so even the back top and sides is protected from scratches.

  • I love these things. I have a full body one for my iPod, which I don’t treat too well, and it looks exactly the same as when I bought it 10 months ago. I also have one for my Palm Treo, which I treat even worse than my iPod…it’s in my pocket with my keys all the time…and the screen is completely scratch free. What’s really great about these things though, is that not only does it protect whatever it is you put it on, but the shield itself doesn’t end up looking like a scratched piece of shit after a few months either.

  • This shield is a crap. May be is a good quality but from esthetic view is like I put a piece of plastic bag on my phone. Its very difficult to put in on phone.

    • Could not disagree more, a few people complain about the plasticky feel I really think it makes the phone stick in your hand a lot better. It has a solid feel to it and even when you put the phone down you know it is not going to slide off any surface. I can agree they are not that easy to put on but once they are on they become invisible and provide top notch protection.

  • How easy is this to remove if you don’t like the feel or look?

  • I just put the full body protector on my new cell phone. I’m on the fence about whether or not I like it, though. On the one hand, it feels like all parts of the phone are now well protected from scratches, but on the other hand it seems like the covered parts are now dust and lint magnets… especially the edges of all of the pieces. When I take the phone out of my pocket, lint and just is sticking to all of the edges. Anyone else have this issue?

  • BEWARE OF ZAGG

I really hope I like this product because

I ordered a skin for my Blackberry 9630 and my iPod Touch 2G. I selected Next Day Air option and when it showed up late, I phoned for a refund on the shipping portion and they wouldn’t oblige. The gave me 10 different excuses, none of which made sense. The only reason I ordered Next Day Air, was that I was leaving town for 10 days, otherwise, I would have had it shipped ground. I received an email stating that my product had been shipped, and I waited patiently for it arrive. Nope, so when I called the following day, on my way out of town, I asked for a refund for the overnight shipping. They said that it sometimes takes awhile for things to get out of their warehouse. So why did I receive an email stating my product had been shipped with a tracking number and why did I pay for overnight shipping? I told them I would return the product and they said it would take 30-60 days for a refund. So now I am stuck with a $25.00 product that I paid $44 to have shipped overnight, but the best part, is I received an email and it said, “If we receive mail that has postage due that amount will be deducted from your refund.”

The customer service support team is by far the worst I have ever encountered. I wish I ordered from one BodyGuardz or BestSkinsEver

  • I hated the fingerprints on the iPhone’s screen and was constantly wiping them off–until one wipe put a big scratch across the screen. The shield does get dirty and has to be cleaned every few days, but it’s much better because individual fingerprints don’t really show. I don’t mind the slight change in the appearance of the screen, especially since it covers up the nasty-looking scratch pretty well.

  • DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF SHIT!!!! Very difficult to install & for the hefty sticker price of $30 they only give you one shield!!! Give me a break!!! You are definitely better off buying another protector!
