Know that little button that pops up that lets you buy DVDs on Netflix. It’s going away. They’ll probably sell all their old DVDs to wholesalers and save on the cost of shipping unwanted DVDs at a significant discount.
While I don’t believe that this means Netflix is moving away from optical – there will still be plenty of Luddites even years from now – I think physical media sales and, to an extent, rentals will soon fall precipitously. Netflix is doing a great job at getting their streaming content out to viewers and once more studios get on board I’d estimate that will end up being between 30 or 40 percent of their business, depending on streaming hardware penetration. Face it: when’s the last time you bought a DVD?

So … will they be selling Blu-Ray instead??? I have already switched to HD streaming. More and more companies are doing the same (including Apple). Selling DVDs although not yet obsolete, will soon be.
Currently all popular TV channels like CBS, Sci-Fi, Fox, NBC…everybody has their flagship shows online available free as HD Streaming..

I think they are stopping the sale of any discs, whether they be Blu-Ray or DVD. I read on another blog that they are going to focus exclusively on streaming and shipping rentals.
