Looks like Microsoft wants Windows 7 out the door in time for Christmas 2009

Did you hear the news? Microsoft is looking to ship Windows 7, its Hail Mary of sorts, by mid-2009, with the goal of having it pre-installed on most machines by the holiday shopping season.

So, come next Christmas, you could be using Windows 7! So that’s sorta neat.

Unfortunately, this news isn’t “official,” and is merely what CNet reports was said at a recent “technical session,” whatever that is. The money quote, as said by director Doug Howe:

Definitely the holiday focus is going to be on 7.

Oh, definitely, Microsoft!

Again, don’t screw it up this time.
