I agree, I found this site looking for more instructions on the filter. It is loud and I am not sure it is set up right. Unfortunately because of the shape, buying a different filter to use may be hard.

I bought this aquarium for my daughter and set it up last night. She adores it, but I’m not convinced I have the filter set up correctly. It seems rather loud and it doesn’t appear as if any water is going through the filter. Does anyone else have one of these? And yes….I have read the directions and looked at the pictures and I still think it is rather vague. Thanks!

Sorry in advance but this leads me towards a bit of a rant. This is probably unnecessary to say but yes this is acceptable for a beta. This tank is not even remotely acceptable for a goldfish. The average cold water goldfish requires an average of 10 gallons to properly diffuse the amount of waste put into the water on a common basis.

Worse than that is the fact that a typical goldfish available at your common fair in a bag is a Comet goldfish, which in a proper environment grows upward of 2 feet. Finally the misconception that a fish grows to its tank size. While in a sense that may be true what is actually occurring is the growth and lifespan of the fish is being seriously deteriorated.

Sorry again as this is not a fish forum, and I realize fully that the above post was not necessarily condoning the inclusion of goldfish within the above tank.

However even considering that I try, as an avid fish collector and breeder, to curb the misconceptions that exist about goldfish.
