Computer of choice for a king and a president: Macs
by Matt Burns on November 10, 2008

Microsoft might have everyday users proclaiming themselves Window’s fanboys, but both royalty and politicians prefer Macs. Above is Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah bin Abdul Al Saud monitoring Mecca and below, President-elect Obama on the campaign trail. When Obama talked about change, a President that uses Mac is a change as he will be the first to do so. Dare we call Bush a PC and Obama a Mac? Guess we just did.

  • Hello, I’m a PC and I’ve been made into a stereotype.

  • Well, Bush Sr. was more like a PC. Dubya is more like a stone tablet or, at the most, a notepad.

I think Keynote is Apple’s biggest selling point for the capitol crowd.

    PS - I was a Mac, now I’m a PC with Linux :)

  • I’m a PC, and I start pointless oil wars and ruin economies.

  • Guys,

I hate to do this but, that laptop on Obamas desk has a sheen to it that could only belong to a Macbook (not pro) but the dimensions look wrong for a 13″ Macbook to my eye.

I’m calling photochopped… Any other images with him in front of a mac?

    • It’s a macbook pro with a clear plastic shell, you can see a faint border around the lid where there’s a bevel in the plastic. Also, you can see the security slot next to the optical drive slot (the non-pro doesn’t have it there). Not that I care what kind of computer he uses, I’m a mac/pc/linux. I just dig the pac-man looking sticker. Notice how it’s black, eating a white apple, OMG reverse racism! heh.

    • Yes, I agree. This does not look right. BTW, what about this pacman chasing the Apple logo?

  • Ok crunchgear get you facts straight Bush uses a Mac/Ipod, and if you are comparing superiority then the pc wins. As for Obama using a Mac it might be good for Apple but in reality he is a PC. Mac are more attuned to a Mac, kinda like the dictator of operating system with the demand that you must be an exclusive developer. Obama is more like a PC because he is about the different people and bringing them together. Besides O is all fun and game and business like, the turf of the PC.

  • So you are proud or something that you use the same kind of computer as the leader of the corrupt Saudi empire a country whose environmental and human rights record is among the worst in the world? Uh, okay.

Also, as noted, Bush is a longtime mac user. You are both just making things up or proud about entirely the wrong thing. This means that you are not Mac or PC (a dumb distinction to begin with) but just a fucking idiot.

  • The Saudis use Macs and so does Obama. You could’ve saved a lot of time by just saying that Muslims like Macs.

  • Wow! very cool “lucky-captured” picture. But I think both the king and president are deserved to have the best computer ever - Mac - rather than that microsoft.
by the way, was apple behind Obama’s campaign? hehehe…

  • After the last eight years, I want my government to be OPEN Source in both attitude and action. I’m not interested in merely switching monopolies, if you will.

  • That does it for me, politicians, royalty and Dubya own use Mac’s, I’m convinced it the perfect computer if you are a self- aggrandizing, attention seeking dumb ass.
