It’s abundantly clear that this MacBook Nano is not real – it’s basically a wonked up MSI Wind – but I wonder: What would you like to see in a MacBook Nano? We all know the Air is beautifully thin, but could there be a Mac Mini-esque netbook in Apple’s future, right? What features would you love?

What I am looking for in the MacBook Nano is a cheap price tag.
Oh and Linux would be nice as well… or maybe open solaris :)
Neither condition would be met by a Macbook Nano.
I would have to agree with Johnny about the cheap price tag. I’d love to have a MacBook, even a por, not a Nano, but the price is just too expensive for what it does. :(
just give me sort of an oversized ipod touch for indoor use.
throw in a decent docking station and networking printing capabilities and I’m fine.
the price doesn’t really matter …
I’m not so much looking for MacBook nano….but rather an iPod Touch ‘Max’….I want to be able to do everything I can with the Touch (and maybe a little bit more – e.g., people still do like to ‘read’ Steve ;->) with more screen real estate (~8-10″), and with all of the multi-touch goodness intact. What I do not want is a full laptop converted to tablet form – like the many craptastic Windows tablets I’ve used (though I wholeheartedly agree Apple could do so much better in the MacBook Tablet form factor).
Instead of starting with more and then trimming stuff out, I think starting with less and only adding what you need is the preferred approach. For the record, I’ve been loving my Air and really have no need for a smaller version of it….but continually pine for the usefulness of the Touch, albeit with a larger screen. Sure, I can read on the Touch – but it’s good for ’snippets’ only. I want to enjoy full page goodness like books, magazines, etc. in their full layout goodness – without having to pinch my way in and out.
I’m with Tom, a 10 inch Touch would be awesome. I think that a netbook that does the tablet thing where you can swing the screen around and lay it flat that includes the functionality of an iTouch would be just about perfect. I still need a traditional keyboard and my brain just functions better for writing (which is what I use netbooks for) when I have the traditional hinge laptop. But the touch functionality would be great, and for just reading, the ability to fold into tablet would be perfect.
A iPod Touch Maxo would be an interesting idea, but I’m not sure there’d be much of a market for it. I think Apple learned some lessons from the eMate they are not looking to repeat.
excatly that: olpc xo 2 (but with OS X inside)
